Review

Head Automatica is a side project from Glassjaw?s singer Daryl Palumbo and dance/electronica producer Dan "the Automator" Nakamura, their first album "Decadence" has nothing to do with the hardcore/metal of Glassjaw-no this is a groovy pop/rocknroll affair.
It?s like hearing a bix mix of varied styles like a soup of Beastie Boys,Lenny Kravitz and Primal Scream,I surrender to the powerpop pearls of "Beating heart baby","Dance party plus" and "The Razor" but get annoyed while listening to the garage rocker "I shot William H.Macy" or the Beastie Boys kinda "Brooklyn is burning" which contains a melody very similar to Rod Stewart?s 70?s hit "Do ya think I?m sexy".
Palumbo takes influences from his all time favorite bands (Squeeze,Elvis Costello,Nick Lowe) on this album, this aint no rapmetal album so get that out of your heads........the level of the songs goes up and down but I think there?s something for everyone on it.
