Jack?s Mannequin is the Something Corporate?s singer/pianist Andrew McMahon?s new side project, other members are Jon Sullivan-Bass,Bobby Anderson-Guitars and guesting on drums is Tommy Lee of Motley Crue.
Andrew was diagnosed with acute lymphatic leukemia. Treatment of his condition, from which his doctors believe he will fully recover.
Something Corporate?s both albums has sold over 300,000 copies so it?s obvious there?s an audience out there for McMahon?s piano based powerpop with a modern rock touch.
Musicwise,"Everything in transit" isn?t any different compared to SC except for the punkpop part that is totally gone on this album - Andrew has taken a more powerpoppy direction with Jack?s Mannequin.
Still, this piano based powerpop is very catchy and infectious and he lines up the hit single candidates from the opening track "Holidays from real" to the closing track "La la lie".
You can find influences both from Billy Joel as well as The Beatles on this album,a sunny album that won?t disappoint his fans of Something Corporate!
I hope he recovers and can continue what he does best - to write music and cheer up the depressive masses.

Nice, cool and catchy. It?s not as good as Something Corporate though.
