Review

Requiem is a Finnish metal band that started out as a death/power metal band but now more or less is a pure metal band on their first album for Scarlet records with "Requiem forever".
They have done 2 albums for Sound Riot records and since I haven?t heard them,I cannot compare this new album to their previous works so I have to judge this album for what it is.
First thing that strikes me is that singer Jouni Nikula has a rather weak voice which doesn?t sound good whether he?s singing highpitch or doing growls, the music they?re playing reminds a lot of the popular 80?s metal where bands like Accept,Manowar and Crimson Glory comes in mind.
The melodic "Painting the wind" is a great song but would possibly sound a whole lot better with a progmetal band such as Threshold.
No,get back to the closet where you came from coz this requiem is stone cold dead.
