Texas quintet Terminal recorded a real strong debut album before they broke up,their lead singer/songwriter Travis is looking for musicians to back him up under the same name - the sound can be compared to emo bands like Anberlin and Dead Poetic but with a certain touch of modern rock a la Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World. The song "Dark" has become a new fave of mine,it contains everything a great song should have - atmospheric vibes, edgy guitars and lovely melodies. This is the kinda record that you want to hear from the beginning even after the 3rd time you heard it,there?s a warm sound over the whole album that feels like velvet for the ears. Put on "City by the sea" or "Watching wasting waiting" and you will understand what I?m talking about! Recommendable!
The name "Minus the Bear" comes from an in-joke among the band members, referring to the 70´s television program, B. J. and the Bear. "A friend of the band had gone on a date,” explains singer-guitarist Jake Snider, "and one of us asked him afterwards how the date went. Our friend said, ´You know that TV show from the ´70s B.J. and The Bear? It was like that... minus The Bear.´ That’s the straight truth."
