Review

From out of nowhere comes the follow-up to Agent Cooper?s magnificent self-titled debut, what these Canadians have been up to during the six years since the release of that one I do not know. But what I do know is that ?Beginner?s Mind? is a much welcomed release and certainly an album that will find its way into the top releases of 2005.
The Canadian touch is still very prominent and the melodies are poppy but with a heavier edge than on the debut, the harmonies are great and the musicianship is impressive. The influences from compatriots Rush and Saga are not as evident this time around though Agent Cooper has developed into something much more original and from now on only can be compared with no one but themselves. If you are fed up with the flowerbeard?s and spocksking?s of the progressive rock world and urgently feel that you are in desperate need of a good dose of freshness and creativity, then look no further ? Agent Cooper is the cure!
