Review

Equal Vision recently re-released Coheed and Cambria?s debut album "The second stage turbine blade" with 3 previously unreleased bonus tracks, the reason is of course all the new fans this band has gained with their major label debut "Good Apollo" that hit the stores this fall.
EV wants to make sure the debut is in stock again and as a treat, with some bonus tracks included so all older fans also wants a copy of it.
I think this album is a little stronger than the follow up "In keeping secrets....",CAC do in fact sound a bit like Shiva (the Rush soundalike trio that released the classic album "Firedance" in 1982).
CAC doesn´t play 100% pure progrock, the influences are there but this band has taken their own road with a more modern emo/hard rock sounding progrock which works from time to time but the band has a hard time reaching out with their complex melodies.
2 of the 3 bonus tracks are demo versions of songs featured on "The second stage..",if you already have a copy of the first version of this album originally released in 2002 - do not bother to check this one out.
An ok record with a few good moments!
