Catchy pop/rock with with an 80?s new age feel is what you get if you dive into The Weekend?s debut album "Beatbox my heart",these Canadians worked with producer John Wozniak (Marcy Playground) and the sound is crispy and radioperfect.
Their song "Into the morning" is being featured in the new movie "DEBS". The soundtrack to this indie film festival favorite about tough teenage spy chicks features great 80s new-wave and synth-pop mixed with modern electro sounds released on Lakeshore records.
This band is fronted by female singer Andrea and she is backed up by 4 guys and together they sound like a mix between Stimulator and Lambretta, not as tough as Lambretta and more punkish than Stimulator but somewhere inbetween.
The new single "Temporary Insanity" features some great hooks and there are a few more songs with that hit feel on the album, perhaps The Weekend can be a little too *happy* if you know what I mean but they are alright!
