Review

This year,Canadian singer/songwriter Emm Gryner will release the new album "The Summer of High Hopes".
Last fall, she made "The Great Lakes" which is a limited edition album with each copy individually numbered and packaged especially for the buyer and signed from Emm herself, however no copies are available for sale at this time so I guess the die hard fans already have purchased their copies.
She is an experienced singer with being a background vocalist for David Bowie among her qualifications,Emm has released 8 solo albums up to now with the two latest ones reviewed here by our editor in chief Par.
My guess is that popstar Vanessa Carlton have listened a lot to Emm Gryner as well as Chantal Kreviazuk, even though Emm?s music has more similarities with Sheryl Crow - Emm and Vanessa both treat the piano with the same gentle touch and sweet melodies.

The track "Billy hang on" is hard to resist,I get in a good mood while listening to this charming song and the hauntingly beautiful "Star/Crossed" shows what a great singer Emm is.
My choice though for the mixtape is the midtempo "Case of tornadoes" co-written with Mike Rowe (Sheryl Crow),but there are more earcandy on this 33 minute long cd like the autumn breeze of "Saturday night in nowhere" or the Stevie Nicks sounding "Win the west".
She has such a lovely voice!
