One of the latest signings by Escape Music are Surveillance that hails from U.K,they play pure melodic hardrock led by the very talented vocalist Lee Small. First time I heard this album I was pretty sure that they had Glenn Hughes on vocals because Lee Small has a voice that has very strong resemblance to Glenn Hughes. Lee is the one that lifts up this album to higher grounds with his voice but unfortunately the songs don?t hold the same quality. Soundwise this is very close to what you can hear on the solo albums of the voice of rock,Mr.Glenn Hughes - mixed with the latest Phenomena album. They deliver nice guitar riffs with twin guitars and melodies but in the long run the songs misses the strong hooklines and catchy choruses to grab the listeners attention, the album don?t have the real gems and I can?t find any songs that stands out more than the other, a very even album without the extra kick. A very solid hardrock album that will not cause any bigger attention. The album is produced nicely by Mark Stuart and among the musicians you will find keyboardist Paul Hodson (Ten, Bob Catley) and Sue McCloskey (Dante Fox). Let?s hope we will hear and see more of the talented Mr. Lee because he deserves to sing on better and stronger songs than this debut album from Surveillance has to offer.
ESCAPE MUSIC ruined what the boys had..having known them for the best part 0f 20 years and still doing so to this day!
They were known as NATIVE CAIN but Escape didnt like that..it ruined the bands reputation and that led to their demise...gladly Connor and Dez are back as THE NEW SAINTS are really are attracting labels and fans across the UK...and I think they wont let labels get in their way from now on!
