Oklahoma based Pillar?s latest 2 albums "Fireproof" and "Where do we go from here" hasn?t convinced me but I bet the upcoming album "The reckoning" (out Oct.3rd) will coz this new EP is the best so far from this popular christian numetal act. "Nothing comes for free" is something for the most loyal fans coz it?s a limited edition 7 track EP only available at shows and online at their website store. It opens with the mammuth riffrocker "Everything" that also will be featured in a different mix on the upcoming album, great song anyhow! What strikes me when I hear these 3 brand new studio tracks is that the rap part is completely gone and I couldn?t be happier coz this new sound suits Pillar so much better. The following 2 tracks "Dangerous" and "Our escape" are 2 previously unreleased tracks that sounds just awesome, this melodic hard hitting numetal will take Pillar to new heights. As a bonus, the fans also get 4 live versions of "Fireproof" from the album by the same name, "Simply" and "Frontline" from (Where do we go from here) plus a great live version of the opening track "Everything" in front of a cheering crowd.

I usually NEVER buy EP?s. They are usually only a whole bunch of "filler/nothing special" songs that are released only so Die-Hard fans have something to hold onto while the Band produces an ACTUAL Record... HOWEVER, This is not the case. Pillar?s Nothing Comes For Free Ep is THE BEST EP I own. And you can quote that. From the Start, with "Everything", I couldn?t believe somthing this good could come out of Oklahoma. Pillar are very talented musicians. The Lead Singer, Rob, his voice is amazing and it is clearly seen through songs like Our Escape, Everything and The Live Tracks. Dangerous Would have to be my favorite track. It?s so powerful, The singing/screaming is incredible, not to mentioon the musicianship. On the Live Tracks, The raw, energtic side of Pillar is un-veiled. And It?s hard to believe they sound this good live. I wish my band sounded that way! Without a Doubt, and the bottom line is.... They Rock! Buy This EP.

There are many reports that Freddie Mercury of Queen recorded a track with Michael Jackson“s for Thriller. However, this track has never surfaced in public.
