Review

Matt Nathanson has never scored a top 10 hit, or even stepped into the billboard list of hits. The ultimate question is "why"? But the most truthful answer to that question is "it doesen´t matter!"
Nathanson over his many years of constant touring has developed one of the LARGEST fanbases of any singer/songwriter.Period. And with his latest (and 8th) album, his career is only beginning.
"Some Mad Hope" is in all essences, the closest thing to a "perfect" album that i have ever heard. Each and every track equally or more stunning than the last. Whether it be the more up-tempo rockers like "Car Crash" and "Detroit Waves", or the breathtaking slower songs like "Bulletproof Weeks" or "Falling Apart" (< my favorite, if i had to pick), Nathanson has acheived a landscape in his career with this forthcoming album. Matt Nathanson is living proof that a songwriter does not need MTV or millions of dollars to be successful in this business.

Great review of a great record. One of the best albums I've heard in a very long time. Could be the best record I've heard in 2007 as well. As an artist, Matt Nathanson has stepped forward into the consciousness of the listening public, and there will be no turning back. Definitely a career defining record. The one I've been waiting for Matt to make since first hearing "Still Waiting for Spring."

Could easily be a Top 10 album of the year for me, one of the best singer/songwriter records I've ever heard. Great stuff here.

Did you know that?

The former AOR-legend Donnie Iris works as a estate agent these days...
