Review

Switzerland has given us Gotthard, Krokus and Shakra to name 3 bands that has affect our music hearts for many years now. So once awhile new bands pops up from the same country and here we have a new Swiss band called Skansis. It´s not a surprise that these guys sound like Shakra and Gotthard spiced up with touches of Bonfire. Maybe not as strong as the mentioned bands but the sound is very powerful and melodic with lots of wonderful riffs and hooklines. The album has been mixed by Thom Blunier(Shakra). The singer Reto Reist has a voice that reminds of Mark Fox(Shakra) and Claus Lessmann so the vocal parts are very tight. This album offers 12 tracks and it´s a very even album with couple of songs that stands out more. They hooked my up with Changed My Mind that is filled with strong riffs and catchy chorus a´la Gotthard. Take Your Chance it a hard hitting rocker with big riffs and a huge sound, great song. The semi-rockballad Never Let You Go is also very strong. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the opening rocker Is That Enough that should catchy your attention right away. So if your into bands such as Gotthard and Shakra should give these guys a chance because this is not bad at all. A solid debut album that should promise more for the future.
