Review

Guitarist/Vocalist Zack Rogue formed Rogue Wave in 2002 and recorded the first album all on his own, 5 years and 3 records later he has built up a sound and also a complete band that will slowly and steady make a name for themselves in the music business.
I think the world needs more of this psychedelic pop that Rogue Wave does so well, the new single "Lake Michigan" became a favorite song from the first moment I heard it and I would´ve liked this album more if the rest had been on the same level.

But "Asleep at heaven´s gate" isn´t bad, not at all - there are several songs that keeps me interested through the whole album and I especially like the mood the band has created.
It´s easy to think of bands like Pink Floyd and Alan Parsons Project while listening to this album even if the songs really doesn´t exactly sound like that, I´m referring more to the soundscape rather than the actual songs.
This is a comfortable album and the best way to describe their sound is to mix Manfred Mann´s Earth Band and Tears For Fears with The Beatles.

Did you know that?

"Bohemian Rhapsody" was the only song written by Freddie Mercury to reach the top of the charts in ‘75 & again in ‘91 after his death.
