Review

Germany has produced many great melodic hardrock/AOR bands in the past that I’ve been weak for. So now and then it comes up new interesting bands and so is the case with Rock Ignition.
This is a female fronted melodic hardrock/tougher AOR band from Germany that has released a 5-track CD filled with good stuff. This is more guitaroriented MHR/AOR in the same vein as Lee Aaron, Lita Ford and a rockier version of Vixen and Saraya.

The sound of the album is really good and it’s been mixed by Dennis Ward(Pink Cream 69) who’s been behind many great albums lately and the sound is crystal clear. Heather Shockley has a great rocking voice with lots of melody in it and gives the songs a push, I love it. The 5-tracks are all very good but I miss one thing with this album and that’s the keyboards that would have spiced up this album little more, but you don’t get everything you ask for.
Anyway this albums rocks really good and if your into quality MHR/AOR then give these German rockers a chance. Check out Caught In The Past that is a strong mid-tempo song with nice melodies and a strong chorus. The acoustic ballad Too Tough To Take is brilliant with nice harmonies and reminds of Vixen and Saraya at their best. I Can’t Resist is a damn fine rocker with strong riffs and strong hooklines. This is good stuff that Rock Ignition delivers
