Review

The wild guitar intro to Cavalera Conspiracy sets the tone for the coming 11 tracks. The album somehow reminds me of ´Beneath the Remains´ era music - featuring some better riffs and more grooving mid-sections. Max´s gunshot vocal patterns fit the music well, and as far as metal goes, the guitar work is really outstanding. I´m just not sure I´m angry enough to listen to ´Inflikted´ - driving in the car singing ´We must Kill´ just seems juvenial to me, maybe the album would have been more meaningful had I been much younger and more frustrated with life.

From a musical perspective I really love the production, which is clean and full, and the songs are catchy. Tracks like ´Terrorize´ really stand out, with really groovy pre-chorus sections that wind into bouncy verse´s.

The drum work on ´Inflikted´ is more in the thrash genre, but doesn´t dominate the music in a negative way - and adds tremendous power to tracks like ´Sanctuary´ with one of the most bouncy mid-sections in metal - complimented by a really tasty solo too!

Overall I really thought Cavalera Conspiracy was a fantastic metal album - but the lyrical content needs to change before I listen to this more often...or I need to become way more angry.
