There are moments in your life when you come across that special album that will follow you for life and everytime you hear a song from it, you get nostalgic and remember exactly what you did when you listened to that album. This latest decade I have endless love for Goo Goo Dolls "Dizzy up the girl", Tal Bachman´s debut and Third Eye Blind´s "Blue". There are some fantastic pop / rock releases this year but Leeds based Your Vegas has done the best of them all, their debut is like a hits collection taken from a long career but it´s not! This 10 track debut album feels like Godzilla against the bands that has influenced YV, I´m thinking of The Killers, Coldplay and U2. I really love the song "Troubled times" from the EP and it´s ofcourse included here but on the full length album, it´s just another great track because "It makes my heart break", "Birds of paradise", "Your vegas" and "Up until the lights go out" are all smashes in the first degree. Holy smoke, these guys are the Wayne Gretzky´s of modern rock / pop.
