I remember back in the old days when you counted the days before a release date and on the same day, you went to the record store to buy the album you´ve been waiting for. This feeling is something the kids today cannot share because most albums are leaked on the internet at least a month before the release date. I know of much fun it was to visit a friend and listen to the record together, these days you just drop an email to your pal giving him/her the link to the download source and then you can correspond via email how you liked the mp3 files. Talk about losing quality time regarding music and sharing it with your closest friends, I really hate this new way of spreading music but it´s also the future of the record business. I have accepted it but still hate it. Raunchy´s new album "Wasteland discoteque" won´t be out until June 30th but half the world already has it, so I guess my review of the album means shit to the readers of this site and a little more to the band.
How many will actually buy this album? Perhaps 25% of their fans I reckon, support the band by going to their shows and they might be around to release another record. We´ll see. I don´t think this new record is as good as the previous "Death pop romance" but it sure has it´s moments like the massive "The bash" or the cool cover of Rockwell´s 80´s hit "Somebody´s wathching me". The new album is too long, 54 minutes of aggressive metal will do just fine for the kids but as an open minded music lover - this is just too much metal!
Tantric´s originally formed in 1999 by three former members of Days of the New, Jesse Vest, Todd Whitener, and Matt James Taul, with the addition of Merge singer, Hugo Ferreira.
