Review

August 27 is the day for the release of these Nickel Back clones, they ride on the wave and even if they dont have no own personal sound at all.....the songs are great! If you love massive riffs and melodic refrains, you should certainly not wanna miss this powerful debut. The first single "Polyamorous" rocks like a killer whale fighting for his life while beeing hunted by a death ship. My favorite is "Medicate"! Gosh, what a load of direct hit extravaganza you get there. Nickel Back are probably full of envy when they didn?t write that song. Instead of buying the new unnecessary Linkin Park album Reanimation, pick up your wallet and dig out the money for Breaking Benjamin. The production is handled by Ulrich Wild who also did a terrific job on the Static x album. It?s full of attack and compression.....nice nice. "Next to nothing" is a major candidate for a single release with it?s calm acoustic verse and the uptempo driven easy singing chorus. At the end of the record they have put in some orchestral string arrangements on a few tunes which lifts this album a bit more. "No games" is like a tougher version of Goo Goo Dolls, the string part is excellent. The soft and acoustical "Forever" is nothing but a true masterful voyage into the blooming melodicness. Where are you Rzeznik? Are you sure you?re not involved in this?! Breaking Benjamin will be the name on many lips this autumn.

Did you know that?

Alter Bridge was formed in 2004 by Mark Tremonti (lead guitar, vocals), Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott Phillips (drums), all former members of Creed, with Myles Kennedy (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), formerly of The Mayfield Four.
