Review

The Sparrow records debut from Josh Wilson is a rather comfy affair, I come to think about several different music styles while listening to "Trying to fit the ocean in a cup".
The easy listener which settles with this cd as background music would probably go for Josh Wilson as a typical mainstream artist in the CCM genre but the real music lover (like myself) that wants to get deeper into the music, will find other things such as a taste of Nashville with some country/midwest rock vibes plus in other moments Josh also gives us a fresh breeze of the 80´s.
His arrangements are quite smart and I really do like his voice, the second half isn´t as strong as the first half so I can´t go over 3 stars here but the songs "Savior, please", "3 minutes" and "Turn around" puts me in a very good mood for sure.
A promising start of the record without doubt, it sounded so much better in my headphones.
Thumbs up for the groovy guitarplaying.
