Review

Matt Hales aka Aqualung releases his Verve Forecast debut on Oct.7th, the new album contains both old and new songs as well as a Paul Simon cover.
This album feels a bit more laid back compared to the previous "Memory man" from 2007, I am also pretty fond of the 2003 album "Still life" where Matt included the songs "Good goodnight" and The Beatles sounding "7-keys".
The other 2 old songs are "Can´t get you out of my mind" and "Everything changed" from the self titled album (2002), I think his version of Paul Simon´s "Slip sliding away" is a bit too melancholy so I prefer the original here.
The new track "Mr universe" is even more The Beatles-like than the opening track "7-keys", I like this upbeat song very much.
The new single "On my knees" bring thoughts to Supertramp in a Britpop kinda way, perhaps the best song on this album too.
However, the entire album is a disappointment and I can´t see myself returning to this album again more than just a few tracks.
