Swedish metal act Crystal Eyes is here with their 5th album, and it´s filled with nice power metal with melodic hardrock influences. The album made me think of a melodic metal drink mixed with Helloween, Crystal Ball and Hammerfall.
This is very well-produced and their Danish singer Nico Adamsen have a strong good voice that suits their sound just perfect.
The album contains nine songs where a couple of the songs stands out more than the rest. The songs that captures my attention are filled with strong melodies with great riffs and big hooklines.
Just listen to the powerful "The Fire Of Hades" that sits on a good chorus. "Waves Of War" could have been taken from an early Helloween album. "Dying In The Rain" is more of a melodic hardrock song in the same vein as Crystal Ball with big guitars. "Fighting" is Hammerfall all the way with a catchy chorus and great riffs and melodies.
The album ends with the nice acoustic "Guardian".
This is a nice metal album with big riffs, powerful sound and strong melodies. Not all songs are that great but big parts of the album sounds very good. Check it out if you´re into power metal. The album is mixed by Fredrik Nordstrom (Hammerfall).
