When the major part of the band GRACE reunited around three years ago and became BAD RADIATOR, Sweden got its own answer to MICHAEL LEARNS TO ROCK. OK, I'm stretching things a bit, because this is slightly more rock based. Anyway, on this follow-up the four guys aimed for a tougher approach and take it closer to hard rock.
Based in the Stockholm region, BAD RADIATOR is a band who fully capable of creating a BIG sound. They actually sound like they're released through any major label! Singer and keyboard player Mikael Lundgren has a great voice, and there's a strong feeling of unity about the rhythm playing. In their most AOR:ish moments, like "Your love", there are quite a lot of BON JOVI vibes. Even some dut-dut keyboards included! So when you hear the BACKSTREET BOYS sounding "Do you remember", it proves a variety in style that makes it hard to label the CD. But it's soft AOR with pop elements, putting it in short. In spite of occasional heavy riffs, there is not much of a difference compared to the first album. SAVAGE GARDEN is another great reference, by the way. Such a professional act would deserve 4 out of 5 in grading (it's very, very close!), but I would like them to bring stronger choruses to make it to that level.
