Has been a huge fan and Adelitas Way since their self-titled and strong debut from 2009. Really liked its great mix of modern hard rock and post-grunge like a mixture of Nickelback and Daughtry. The subsequent Homeschool Valedictorian from 2011 was also a strong record although it does not quite reach the same level as the debut.
This third album, Stuck was released on July 29, 2014, and invites us once again to rock for venues with nice riffs and big choruses. However, the band has chosen to become something more commercial and we get more soft tracks than their predecessors, which I personally do not really like. Tracks like "Drive," "Undivided" and "Something More" is good and has clearly hit potential, but is slightly too over-produced to fit Adelitas Way in my opinion. Think instead that the band comes up to their usual standard in tracks like "Dog on a Leash" and "Save the World" where the band deliver modern heavy rock of the highest quality.
stuck is overall an ok album, a little too uneven and radio adapted, but there is clearly great songs if you like this type of straddled rock.
