Review

Amue is a new progressive / alternative rock band from California, their debut EP "Alone you would lie" is a good example of a band that doesn´t follow the mainstream formula.
Among their influences we find Radiohead, Dredg, Muse, Circa Survive, Incubus etc but it´s really hard to compare their sound to any other band.
I hear traces of Dredg but I also get vibes from bands such as A Perfect Circle and The Panic Division, you can hear that the band has put a lot of effort into both songwriting as well as the production of this 7 track EP.
Without doubt a professionally done album that demands a few spins before you can actually have an opinion, songs that stand out are "Sinful needs", "Devils in my pocket" and "If I should fall".
Amue is Doug Tejera - Vocals, Tino Baldenegro - Guitar, Lyle Tilo Reust - Guitar/Keyboards, Jeff Ford - Bass and Matt Lafferty - Drums.
Truly an interesting band!

My only complaint about this CD is that there aren't more songs. It is eargasmic to say the least. I have turned many into avid Amue fans such as myself. I definitely see the influences stated above but also see some 30 Seconds to Mars as well. I actually have gotten them some radio play on OCRockRadio.com and Cypress College (online) Radio and they are getting rave reviews. I could go on for hours. Not only is each song a trip to heaven with Doug's vox, the music just sends you off in a wonderful place you never want to return from. Amue is on their way!!!
