Review

Being a true hardrocker at heart, I will always remember those times when you first heard Van Halen´s debut in 1978, Iron Maiden´s debut in 1980, Accept´s Breaker in 1981, Metallica´s Ride the lightning in 1984 or KoRn´s Untouchables in 2002.
Moments of happiness with albums that were the hardest or the heaviest you have heard so far, it´s quite hard for a band nowadays to beat the record of the hardest album ever made.
I love metal, I still think most new bands in this genre take their influences from classic bands like Black Sabbath or Kiss.
Sure, the new Swedish metal phenomenon Corroded will raise their fists and yell - Soundgarden or Alice in Chains because there are traces of grunge in their sound.
But the riffs go back all the way to Black Sabbath and the power of the vocals should make Gene Simmons of Kiss proud any day.
"Eleven shades of black" is a colossal debut, nothing revolutionary but it contains a load of mammuth heavy riff rockers!

Good heavy riffs and vocals, but 3-4 songs is enough for my taste

Correction on my review above ! The leadsingers voice are of course Jens Westin. As I listen to almost all kind of music and shift genres often from raw rock to psy-trance , house and club it´s hard to describe what makes music good. But one thing I always notice is that music that someone have put a lot of energy and commitment to are always good to listen to. I listen to what´s inside the tunes and not only the surface when i judge. Corrode released their album in my club / house genre time and blow me away in a fingersnap. The tune time and agian had so many layers and still are a "clean" rocksong. The hard guitar riff and cleaver drumbeats are completed when the vocals start. Fredrik has one of the best voclas I heard in a very long time. These guys can go really far with the right backup from their label. Keep rocking !

Corroded kicks ass! Mammoth is spelled mammoth, not mammuth. Duh.
