Review

Butch Walker did an very impressive record earlier this year ready for the for a lot of peoples top lists this year. He has also produced a couple of goodies like Injected, the forthcoming from SR-71 and this second one from Bowling for Soup. In my opinion is Butch the best choice as a producer for this kind of punk influenced rock. There are far to many records where the drummer seems to have taken a fat doze of amphetamine and drums likes it was his last day on earth. Ok, this kind of rock should be quite fast a times, but on 12 songs in a row, Naahhh. This new effort from Bowling for soup is quite varied in tempo which is great and has better songs then the 2000 release ?Let?s do it for Johnny!?. The first single ?The girl all the bad guys want? is a killer one as the new one ?Emily? which is my fave. The guys really want to give us a lot o songs cause the album contains 18 tracks, which feel a couple of too many. If I only had been a listener I would have appreciate it, but now I?m also a reviewer and have to judge the album as a whole. I think this one of the best releases in this genre 2002 even it doesn?t break any new ground.
