Review

Jars of Clay has always been a favourite on our website and that won’t change a bit with this newest release “The long fall back to earth”. On last years EP “Closer” we could detect a shift of style into a more 80’s poprock sound. “TLFBTE” just underlines this new direction. Jars of Clay has delivered so many brilliant albums, that it should be difficult to find new inspiration every time around but the well never seems to dry up. Two songs of the EP are also on this album namely “Closer” and “Safe the land”. The rest of the album is filled with great popsongs. You should take the time to listen to this album near the fireplace with your headphones on and let yourself get carried away on the melodic waves of the music. To name a few highlights: “The Long Fall”, “Weapons”, “Two Hands”, “Heaven”, “Closer”, “Safe to land”, “Headphones”, “Don’t stop”, “Boys(lesson one)”, “Hero”, “Scenic route”, “There might be a light”, “Forgive me” and finally “Heart”. In closing, do yourself a favor and buy this gem immediately without any delay! Brilliant songs, brilliant singer, brillant band, brilliant production, brilliant album!

Incredible album. So alive and so full of great inspiring songs, and though the themes are not based so much directly on christian themes this time, their lyrics still makes great sense.
