The Rising EP is David Hodges solo debut after being part of both Evanescence, Trading Yesterday, and later The Age of Information. He has also written hits for artists like Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Celine Dion and Anastacia Backstreet Boys, so he is a very competent songwriter. And this can also be heard on this four song Ep where we are given big sounding and at the same time simple modern rock / pop. Would even say that his style and quality has a lot in common with Vertical Horizon, which also is only hugely positive. The only negative I have to say about this EP is that it is too short, but more is to come from this hitmaker that with a little luck can have a really big hit as a solo artist very soon.
