You can have your opinion about whether The Van Gobots makes good music or not but you cant argue with this band being totally insane, like a runaway train running amok. I felt split about their debut from 2008 which was appealing at the same time as it was weird, TVG truly has a cool style of psychedelic punk where they aren´t afraid of using a Fender Rhodes piano together with guitars that sounds like sirens. Their follow up "Guantamo beach party" is in fact a bit better than the debut but I still have a hard time catching up with their lust of experimenting and sometimes the singer feels like he´s doing a completely other song than the rest of the band.
The name Nickelback originates from the nickel in change that member Mike Kroeger gave customers at his Starbucks job. He would frequently say "Here´s your nickel back."
