Toronto based band Dream Aria is back with their 3rd album "Fallen angel" and this time they´re heavier but still with the same theatrical and mysterious progrock sound of the first two albums. Dream Aria´s compositions are very musical and with Ann Burstyn´s storytelling lyrics, it feels like I´m listening to a soundtrack to a screenplay. The new album opens with the title track which isn´t the strongest track here, it gets much better from track 2 "Gypsy heart" where the song arrangement is awesome especially from keyboardist Don Stagg. Drummer Garry Flint has done a great job on the production part and I think this is their best sounding album so far, the songs might not reach the same high level as the previous album "Transcend" but they are close on "Fallen angel". My favorite track is "The illusionist" that features a great distorted bass and more powerful vocals from Ann on the chorus, thumbs up! A highly recommendable album!
