Canadian band Simple Plan is one of the biggest pop / punk bands around with several hit singles and millions of sold albums. I thought that their debut "No Pads, No Helmets ... Just Balls" was charming and had its moments. But after that the band's development has not been particularly interesting with far too many silly songs. I dont mind the melodic melodies and their catchy pop, but Simple Plan is too light and wimpy for me, unfortunately.
Last album "Get Your Heart On!" is no different from what they delivered before with catchy pop deluxe. We got eleven incredible catchy tunes where all sounds more or less like hits, but no one seems interesting. Ok, the little tougher "Last One, Stand-up" works and feels like a style they should try more. But otherwise it is pretty uninteresting, despite some cool appearances from Rivers Cuomo, K'naan and Natasha Bedingfield.
