Review

Good old fashioned and traditional pure AOR delivered in a pink and fluffy package. Alyson Avenue are 5 Swedes that keeps raising the AOR flag into the 21st Century, they play music that was big in the 80?s in the same vein as Pat Benatar and Heart! Keyboard man Niclas Olsson is the man behind all the music and he does it very well too because the songs couldv?e been written by names like Diane Warren,Mark Mangold,Michael Bolton and Desmond Child. A.A have a female singer that has a perfect voice for this kinda AOR,Anette Blyckert is her name and is so much more fun to listen to than all these *fame factory wannabees*. It?s great six string work from Tony Rohtla with lots of attack in his playing that?s pushing the music forward. If Cher would have done "Tell me you love me" in 86 it would?ve been a huge hit. "Every now and then" echoes out Bon Jovi a la slippery when wet and the gorgeous refrain on "It?s in your eyes" puts me on a trip down memory lane when bands like Survivor,Foreigner and Journey ruled the rld....well they still rule....in my world! I?m pretty sure Billy Steinberg or Martin Briley would have been proud writing a song like "One desperate heart" on this CD. It?s sad though that records like this one goes by unnoticed nowadays but that?s just the way of life. I noticed it though.
