Review

Mat Kearney has on his last album "Young Love" returned to his roots. Back is the playful rap style that he chose to step away from on the last album "City of Black and White". Is usually not a fan of rap, but Mat is an exception and find that it gives him a unique and exciting musical style. AND we're not talking pure rap because it is more a play on words that he puts into every now and then, like Jason Mraz.

So "Young Love" feels close to the major label debut "Nothing Left to Lose" from 2006 that made him a big name with a bunch of radio hits. And this album maintains the same high class with a warm and stylish pop in a summer-like format. Favorites are "Sooner or later" and "Down", but there are no bad tracks on this very competent album!
