Review

Philadelphia based New County (ex.The Goodnight Anthem) released their debut EP "Lives we lead" in 2010 and will follow up with the 2nd self titled EP on July 12, a perfect summer release if you ask me because these new songs are filled with bright and sunny colours. The new single "Open up to me" starts as a 4 star song, very catchy and infectious. I promise, you can´t sit still to this dance rock song. The 2nd song "She cant keep away" bring thoughts to a more rocking Owl City, really good and inspirational. The 3rd track "Go" is a slower electro pop tune that could suit Rihanna quite well I might add, 4th out is "It´s a shame" which is a cool piano driven electro pop song for fans of The Cab and Hellogoodbye. The last song "Same side" doesn´t match the first 4 songs, it´s more acoustic and R&B sounding but with weaker melodies. The EP lands on a 3 star level but as a whole EP, a well deserved 3,5 stars.

Tracklisting 1. It's All Happening Now
2. In Love With This Song
3. Heart of the City
4. Open Up to Me
5. Knocked Me Out (Ko)

Did you know that?

Ronnie James Dio left Rainbow because Blackmore wanted the band to go into a more radio friendly direction, Graham Bonnet replaced Dio on the following "Down to earth" that included the Top 10 hits "All night long" and "Since you´ve been gone".
