Jeff Scott Soto presented his 2nd SOTO album earlier this year.
And this one is again a fantastic journey.
The album starts of with the instrumental song Divak.
This title song instantly sets the symphonic heavy vibe for the album which has some simmilarities with a band like for example Circle II Circle.
“Weight Of The World” follows with an fantastic intro that just lures you in. JSS again, with no surprise souds fantastic. just listen how deep this band is playing and then this fantastic bridge.
“Paranoia” speeds up the pace to maximum throttle which sets the song apart from the other great tunes.
Jorge Salan's guitarwork on this song is a hole in one for shure and it also gives us a different view at the other musicians as well. The song also contains a very cathy chorus.
“Cyber Masquerade” is a heavy track and has a nice bass line from David Z thruout the whole track. “Forgotten” gives us a riff oriented song but also gives us an acoustic bridge as well.
“Time” starts with again a great riff but has a nice cathy chorus some good background vocals as well. Love the scream during the schredding solo.
“Awakened”, the closing part of the album, hammers along with a raw riff and a killer groove, raw screaming vocals that are somewhat in the direction of Zak Stevens from Savatage and Circle II Circle. What a way to close!
A very nice follow up of "Inside the Vertigo".
