When I heard Reckless Love was coming out with a new album I was ecstatic. After listening to it however I was left in a bit of haze regarding their direction.
'We Are The Weekend' and 'Keep It Up All Night' are the bread winners in my opinion. They are the only tracks I felt still had that 80's rock touch we all know and love to be associated with Reckless Love. 'Keep It Up All Night' is a bit more on the pop rock radio side but I love the dirty southern like guitar break down. Its definitely what gave it some much needed character.
All the other tracks were nice efforts but I feel they were something a teenage girl would be listening to in their bedroom swooning over their latest crush. I'm not sure if they were trying to target a younger age group with Invader but I think all us older fans hope they stick to their roots next go.
Overall this album was too commercial for my taste but not a complete loss.
Alter Bridge was formed in 2004 by Mark Tremonti (lead guitar, vocals), Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott Phillips (drums), all former members of Creed, with Myles Kennedy (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), formerly of The Mayfield Four.
