Swedish metal act Twins Crew is here with a new 6-track EP. This new one sounds very good with a tight production done by the band and Chris Snyder. That’s one of the two things that this band has improved from the previous EP, the other thing is the singer Andreas Larsson sings better.
They play Heavy Metal influenced by bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and early Helloween. I must say that the new songs leans more into Iron Maiden territory with heavy riffs from the twin guitars. The first song is a intro but then they fire with Twin Demon that has Iron Maiden written over it. Legions Of The Dead is more power-metal with nice melodies and pounding drums with Helloween resemblances.
This is a heavy metal album and when you see titles like Heavy Metal Nation you know these guys are into Judas Priest, ok I´m not to fond on those titles but it’s metal we’re talking about. The End Of Forever is the best song of the EP and its another heavy affair with great strong riffs and Andreas vocalperformance is really good on this one and the chorus is very good with quality background vocals. Twin Demon is a nice EP and if you are into Metal and the mentioned bands then check out this Swedish band because this is not bad. When do we get a full-length album guys? |

| Twinspirits is the latest move from Daniele Liverani´s music journey. So if you own some of the 3 episodes of Daniele´s Genius Rock Opera that Frontiers Records has released then you might know what this is about. Yes, this is good progressive rock/metal filled with strong melodies and the singer Soren Adamsen has a strong voice that really gives the songs that extra touch. Already on the 2nd track Back To Reality I could hear that this sounded better and more interesting than the Genius albums. This was a song that grab a hold of me right away with a great chorus and the production sounds more tighter and powerful. One song that could been left out is the heavy and none melodic Power To Kill that´s just boring. Otherwise this is a very even album but with the song Back to Reality as the highlight. I think the length of the album with a running time up to 70 minutes is a bit long and only 9 tracks. Otherwise this is a nice album with bombastic keyboards and with strong vocals that makes this a very solid progressive album. |

It doesn?t take more than 1 minute of listening to the opening track of this "Sound barrier" of an album to know that it?s something great coming on,Twisted Method is 4 young lads from Florida with the age of 20-21 and after have opening a gig before Cinder, they signed a contract with Cinder?s manager Charlie Pennachio who was so impressed by their performance he started to look around for labels and within 5months - Twisted Method were signed to MCA!
"Escape from Cape Coma" is a non-compromising numetal trip into a compact and massive wall of energy, just like their legionaires Stereomud - they are both earthshaking riffeteers, breaking out of Iommi?s school of *Making Mammuth Riffs* the right way and with a fresh diploma.....Twisted Method now walk their own way side by side with Tool,Stereomud,Pantera and other highly respected metalbands.
First track "The end" is nothing else than an absolute killer, singer Tripp?s vocals goes from roaring anger to clear melodic hooks.
I like the tempo changes in "Faceless" where also the guitars make an important part, maybe Metallica should listen to this stuff to learn how heavy music really can sound like. "Reach out" is another tune here that mixes nice melodic vocals with raw axework and should be played nothing but loud!,the rhythm section is perfectly produced and sounds real big but with a crispy touch and can be heard even better on songs like "Change me" and "Newborn". A song I can play over and over again is "Inside out",magnificent chorus and those burning guitars puts everything in flames around me....making me feel like an actor in the dragon movie "Reign of fire".
Keep doing this and they will be invincible whatever Twisted Method they might have. |

Well, here we have a new Twisted Sister album and you can figure it out by the title A Twisted Christmas that these are metal versions of holiday classics. I don?t know what to say about this album because I think this is pretty much like a total disaster. I don?t know who will buy this and wants to hear songs like I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, Merry Christmas, White Christmas and many more done in a Twisted way. Should I laugh or cry? The duet with Doro on White Christmas is just too much where she sings in German (I have nothing against German language though). Lita Ford is also doing a guest appearance on one track and they also do a Spanish version of White Christmas featuring Eddie Ojeda. Well, I think this is an album Dee Snider and Co should have left locked in the studio. I don?t think this will please the true Twisted Sister fans either. No, no, no, no forget that this was ever recorded or released. Why put time and money on a Christmas album instead of doing something new? |

| I´m pretty sure it is something of a cool thing to attend to a TWISTED SISTER show live. However, when they are documenting their live performance as on this CD/DVD release it just falls flat to the ground. Listening to the CD gives me nothing, except a feeling of "gosh, how many artists were hindered in their promising careers when bands like TWISTED SISTER were signed instead?". Don´t get me wrong, I still think the old hits like "We´re not gonna take it" and "I wanna rock" are mood-raising, easy singalong tunes. But they should have left it at the studio album level, and let people go to see their shows. There´s no need for you to buy a live CD/DVD, unless you are a die hard fan of these guys. |

Two Choices is a new British pop/modern rock outfit that has released a mini-album containing 7-tracks with high quality for sure. Yes, these guys sounds very good and their mix of modern rock bands like Simple Plan, SR-71 with a more British rock sound and even some hints of Harem Scarem. This is definitely radio-friendly rock and they deliver stunning melodies with fantastic arrangements and the harmonies are very impressive. Get Away is a damn fine pop tune with a catchy chorus and listen to the great harmony vocals, great stuff. Through To You sounds so much like Simple Plan that if SP released it as a single it would become a hit and this is a damn good song with fantastic melodies and harmonies.
Story Of My Life has a great up-tempo chorus. Night To Remember is the song of the album with fantastic melodies and a sing-a-long chorus with attitude. Ash, the singer has a voice that’s made for this kind of music and he deliver great vocals. The rest of the band is Tom (guitars), Boyce (drums) and Tim (bass) so don’t miss this great band and hopefully they will release a full-length album in the near future. So if you´re into quality modern rock with pop elements then for God sake don’t miss this album. I recommend this for every reader of Melodic. Net. There’s even some AOR-ish moments on the album and that’s one of the reasons I like this a lot. If you don’t believe me then check them out on their myspace page. |

Formerly known as One Way, the Arkansas based band Two Empty Chairs worked with producer Barry Blair of Audio Adrenaline on their new album "Brighter day". We´re talking harmless mainstream modern rock for the whole family, that everyone can enjoy including the children to their middle aged mother. This is the kind of band that is perfect for the intermission at a football game when you go to buy popcorn and want easy listening music to hum on. But unfortunately this is also the kind of music the goes in one ear and out the other, within 2 weeks you have forgotten how this album sounded like. The song "Lifelight" is featured in 2 movies, "Wager" and "The moment after 2" - it´s also the best song here along with the rocker "Hangin on" where they actually turn up the guitars a bit more. I happen to like this type of music but this is just too average. |

We have said it before and we will say it again, these Danish neighbors of ours are a helluva people making such excellent pop music.
The list goes on for miles with bands like Carpark North, Mew, Momb, Saybia, Kick The Kangaroo and now this 5 piece band from Copenhagen called TWO FACE!
I just love big produced and huge sounding pop music with first class vocals and timeless melodies, just like what we?re getting on "Sounds Of A Rude World". Two Face had a hit with "Fire In Your Eyes (ay ay)" in their home country and who could blame the Danish people for loving that tune, it?s a wonderful classic pop anthem that will stay in your head too if you get this pearl of an album.
My fave is the opening track "Revelation Day", I kinda get the feeling of walking in a field in springtime smelling all the flowers around me.....a glorious song.
There are a couple of tracks at the end of the record that feels a bit too poppy, the over-happy "Slip And Slide" and the disco influenced "We Belong" goes away but beside those two, this is a fine gem to discover.

| Kevin Chalfont (The Storm,The Vu, Shooting Star) is back with the 3rd Two Fires album. After releasing the two classic AOR albums with The Storm Kevin got back together with Josh Ramos (The Storm, Hardline) and released Two Fires debut album in 2000 and in 2002 the 2nd album Ignition saw the light of day. Those two albums never captured the greatness that the Storm albums had but had couple of nice tracks. Now Kevin is back with the 3rd Two Fires release but this time around it’s without Josh Ramos. Burning Bright is a solid AOR album and I think it’s the strongest Two Fires album so far but still the album misses the classic AOR crackers that the Storm had that would have lifted up this album even higher but I have to say that the production is great. Kevin sings superb on this new album and everyone knows that he sounds like Steve Perry (Journey). There’s lots of Journey on this album but there even some Survivor and Stan Bush traces. The song Some Thing Are Better Left Unsaid is written by Neal Schon (Journey) and Gregg Rolie (ex-Journey, The Storm) and you don’t come close to a Journey sounding song that this, great one. Another great ballad is Shattered Without You with wonderful melodies and Kevin singing his heart out. Burning Bright is a great up-tempo AOR rocker a´la Survivor. Answer To My Prayer is nice with strong melodies and hooks. Relentless has fantastic guitars and the chorus is great. A good AOR album that will please fans of Kevin Chalfant for sure. |

| Minneapolis based band Two Harbors sound very British, their second album "All the places we would rather be" is a mix of dream pop and Britrock in the same vein as Travis, The Verve but also a touch of Semisonic. The members are new names for me except bassist Jeremy Bergo who played in The Stereo between 1999-2002 together with Jamie Woolford (Let Go) and Jeremy Tappero (Attention, Gratitude). The majority of the tracks are slow beat but I like the mood of the album, the song "Will I ever find out" would suit any Oasis album but my favorites are "Landslide", "Right now" and "What I keep inside". Solid stuff! |

| Two Of A Kind is a new project from Holland put together by Terra Nova mainman Fred Hendrix. This is a band with 2 female singers named Esther Brouns and Anita Craenmehr who both has gathered extensive experience singing and performing with variuos bands from the Dutch scene. The rest of the band is former members from Terra Nova, which have released 4 studio albums plus one Best Of with five unreleased songs. I´ve was little disappointed on the latest studio album with Terra Nova because their earlier albums has been great melodic hardrock/tougher AOR albums and I know Fred can write hookladen songs with a powerful sound. So I must say that Two Of A Kind is a damn fine album filled with great female fronted AOR/Rock in the best Heart, Saraya, Witness meets Terra Nova style. The start of the album is just amazing with wonderful up-tempo AOR-rockers with fantastic hooklines and catchy choruses. The songs I´m talking about is Light In The Dark, The Longest Night and Little By Little. Little By Little is an awesome song with a pompish sound where the keyboards shines out and with a powerful drumsound, Yes this is a brilliant song. After the strong opening the album goes down a bit in the tempo and they deliver nice mid-tempo songs. Give Me A Reason reminds of Heart on their 80s heydays, and it is a great song. Unbearable is a nice ballad. The heat is going up again with Whole Again. This is a great guitardriven rocker with a strong catchy chorus that reminds of Witness and yet again the keyboards plays a big role. This is a great album Fred has come up with. It is filled with strong songs with a powerful sound that will please any fan of female fronted AOR. So don´t hesitate to get yourself a copy of this new Dutch project. |

Two Tongues is an indie rock side project or i guess supergroup if you call it, consisting of members of Saves The Day and Say Anything. The band consists of Max Bemis of Say Anything and Coby Linder of Say Anything, along with Chris Conley and Dave Soloway of Saves the Day. The album, titled "Two Tongues," which was initially set to be released in the summer of 2008, but was delayed for unspecified reasons was released this past Tuesday, February 3, 2009 through Vagrant Records. The thirteen-track disc was self produced and recorded at Electric Lady Bug studios in California.
A great delight if your into Say Anything or Saves The Day or any of that emo kind of pop rock. the album has a kind of under produced sound to it even through it does rock at parts. A great album to rock out to nonetheless. Their voices blend ever so greatly on this record as Bemis maintains the lower range as in Say Anything songs and more or less of the melodic side. Linder hold up the higher squeals on the record and its all mixed to a great blend.
These guys really know how to work off each other and create the harder music when needed and even strip it down a bit to the more mellow melodic breakdowns. I honestly would not have known that was a side project but a new full band if i didn´t already know the voices. A good listen for the side project of these guys, I still receptively like the bands separately but this a good album if you fans of either to rock out to many good tracks like: "If I Could Make You Do Things," "Don’t You Want To Come Home," and "Crawl." |

TXS is a new band out of Norway that features 3 members from the first version of Hush. This is their debut album and they deliver melodic rock/AOR in the same school as Stage Dolls, Hush and Def Leppard (X album). The singer Dag Aspen has a great raspy voice that suits their music just perfect.
The album opens up strong with Who Will You Run To that could have come from Hush´s debut album, a great melodic rocker with a catchy chorus. Next up is Chameleon Man that reminds of Stage Dolls at their peak and the chorus is brilliant with lovely melodies and harmonies. Too bad that rest of the tracks don’t have the same quality, because the songs don’t have the same hooks and melodies as on the two opening tracks.
They do a nice cover of Def Leppard´s Unbelievable. There are a couple of average songs that takes down the grade and songs like Rat Trap and Bad Reputation don’t fit in here, just boring. Breathe You Out is a nice pop-rocker. They round off the album with the beautiful ballad Stay that has some Bon Jovi resemblances. Kenneth E Christiansen (Hush) has done a good and tight production. A solid album that starts very promising but has a couple of songs that feels out of place and don’t come up to the same level as Hush´s debut album but still good one. |

| King?s X axeman has that original voice and own style of guitarplaying that comes a long way for making a good rock album. He?s releasing his third solo album this spring making all his fans happy even though his on quite a lot albums lately,eh?! I have always been a huge King?s X fan but think their greatness have fallen a bit on the 3 latest albums, the matter to it is that the guys are all involved with side projects and solo albums so it?s not so hard to believe that everything they put their soul in cant be 100%......sad to say,but they are only humans. I think his latest solo album "Moonflower Lane" had more better songs but still this new one is pretty good,it?s a nice album with a summer touch to it so to speak.? |

When I look at the album title and the cover of this album,I get a lot of 80?s vibes in my head but Tydyl Wave certainly doesn?t play hair metal - no,we?re talking melodic modern rock like a mix of 3 Doors Down and Nickelback here. The band is led by Dave Chenault-Lead Vocals and songwriter,he wanted to make sure there was enough muscles in the music so Dave contacted producer Joey Anderson and together they created a huge sound that seperates them from a lotta modern productions these days. ?There?s a tendency for positive-message rock music to be wimpy, and we didn?t want that,? Dave admits. The mighty "Past is past" could easily have been written back in the late 80?s but it?s still not a hair metal song - more of how a possible collaboration between Chad Kroeger and Kip Winger could result. The radio friendly "So easily" needs only one spin in the stereo to become your new favorite mixtape song, terrific! I just love it how Dave writes songs where he?s standing with one foot in hardrock territory and the other in the modern rock century, just listen to the power ballad "Lay down" - no sugarsweetness here, just a pure and simple slow rock song you gotta hear loud! Highly recommendable. |
