Bio

Born just outside Paris, Natascha Sohl moved to the UK when she was nine months old. Living in Surrey with her twin sister, older brother and parents, Natascha has fond memories of her childhood and was a keen horse-rider throughout her teenage years.
Studying Film and TV Studies at Brunel University, Natascha started attending music gigs and grew frustrated that she was not the person on stage performing. Making a decision that would change her life, she left Brunel and enrolled at ACM (The Academy of Contemporary Music) in Guildford, where she gained a Higher Diploma in Vocals.

After University, Natascha started her first band when she was 19 years old and subsequently decided it was time to go it alone. Pulling a team around her, Natascha took on a part-time job to so that she could spend as much time as possible writing, recording and playing live. Having been gigging for over 5 years now, Natascha has built up a considerable reputation and fan-base along the way and as her reputation built so did the audience and the interest from the industry.

From the time she started to front her first band, Natascha started to write her own songs and, drawing on her personal experiences in life, she wrote more than enough songs to put together a strong, edgy debut album. In 2003 she signed to independent label, Granite Music. The next step was to record the material and Natascha worked with a collection of musicians who had previously played with Fatboy Slim, Massive Attack, Moloko, Texas, Tina Turner and Tom Jones amongst others. The result was the album, ?Strange Fascination? ? a collection of pop-rock songs about love, life and all the things in between.

The first release was the single ?Are You Ready??, which Natascha performed live at the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Music Radio attended by George Michael, Coldplay and Sir George Martin. She continued to gig, playing in a variety of well-known London music venues and at Universities and Colleges in London and the South of England, where she is invariably invited back. She visited New York in Summer 2004, playing 5 acoustic gigs at venues including The Living Room, The Bitter End and CBGBs.

Natascha also participated in the sold-out Young Voices series of children?s concerts at Manchester MEN Arena, the NIA Birmingham, Sheffield Hallam and the Belfast Odyssey, with a further two concerts at Dublin?s Point Theatre, just before Christmas. She contributed a performance to the 2004 Children in Need appeal and even sang the National Anthem in Wembley Arena for a televised sporting event. Her second single, ?Give It All Away? was released in December 2004 and saw Natascha embarking on a heavy promotional tour. ?Strange Fascination? drew praise and critical acclaim from a broad range of press.

At the beginning of 2005 Natascha signed a worldwide management deal with music industry guru Bill Kimber, who worked with and discovered a diverse range of artists including Eurythmics, Bow Wow Wow, Clannad and Bucks Fuzz, when he was Head of A&R for RCA Records.

Bill and Natascha quickly got to work on re-recording ?Forgive Me?, her only ballad from the album, and produced a stripped-down version of this confessional song. This third Single has an unusual video that sees Natascha enter a world of paper cut-outs.

As a result of her first visit to New York in 2004, Natascha was invited to write and record some tracks with Russ DeSalvo, A-List New York songwriter and producer, personally signed to Sir Paul McCartney?s publishing company. Natascha has been several times to New York since last summer and the second Album is well under way. The new tracks have been gathering very favourable reactions from UK and American sources alike. The first Single from this new material is due for release on April 17th.
