Standing at 7 feet tall when standing on his amp, Martino soars out of the rock/pop section of Coconuts. Having played to scores of friends in his bedroom, Martino now packs his apartment with those same friends, checking out songs that make them nod and smile - Mean Blue Days rocks!
In order to capture his musical ideas onto CD, Martino acquired the musical stylings of vocalist Bobby Valante, bassist Gi Gi, and Cheese on drums to form a kick-ass rock whirlwind called Mean Blue Days. Martino knew instantly that these were the right musicians. They were not nice boys; nice boys don?t play rock & roll. They were ugly, misogynist, and violent; they were also funny, vulnerable, and occasionally sensitive.
Produced by rock god Steve Bad Ass Brown. Martino has been quoted as saying, Steve is the hardest working guy I know, but he still made the process fun. We often took advantage of many of the studios amenities: booze, strippers, mechanical bull riding, Slip N Slide, fireworks, petting zoo, etc.
After studying with the greats....Brown, Furious Fingers Fuhrman, that classical guy on 79th street, Martino honed a perfected sound like no one he ever stole from. A style so unique and rockin fans of Frampton to Zeppelin will be enthralled. While fans of Hilary to P. Diddy will be confused.
Hobnobbing with huge celebrity sightings in and around New York City, Martino knows success wont change him. From the depths of his underground apartment, Martino has a ROCK style influenced rhythm and Van Halenesque fun infused with ideas no quite his own. Guitar after guitar effect youll wonder how many times he visited The Guitar Center to accomplish these tones. A magnificent work of art built on sweat, lots of money, and the inability to control thoughts about everything.
