Bio

CIRCUS DIABLO: Billy Morrison; Vocals. Billy Duffy; Guitar. Ricky Warwick; Guitar. Brett Scallions; Bass. Matt Sorum plays drums on the record and appears courtesy of RCA Records.

Its been a ton of fun writing songs with the two Billys. No pressure, lots of guitars and some great tunes. Matt has been amazing, agreeing to play on the tracks, and we look forward to getting the album finished and maybe playing a few shows later in the year, schedules permitting. We have a couple of ideas for a bass player and a drummer and when the time is right, well jump into a rehearsal room and get out there Ricky Warwick.

Homegrown, Low-Key, on the D/L, call it what you will: CIRCUS DIABLO has been put together by three friends from the UK and is proceeding at its own, organic pace. No pressure, no world changing plans, Billy Morrison, Billy Duffy and Ricky Warwick got together to record some songs:
a) for the hell of it.
b) to make some fresh music for their I-Pods.
c) to damage their hearing a little more.
d) for a future planned album release.

Initially, the three of them got together in Morrisons demo studio and just kicked it out. Straight rock, no bullshit. With no plans to do anything except write a few good rock songs, it soon became apparent that they had a chemistry happening. Three weeks and a bunch of songs later, they sat back and listened to what they had written. Powerful, solid, catchy as Bird-Flu. With Ricky?s rhythms, Duffy?s hooks and Morrison?s far too many cigarettes and Red Bull vocals, they began to think about continuing this project.

They needed a drummer ....... hmm ...... Enter Matt Sorum. With a resume that reads The Cult, Guns N Roses and now Velvet Revolver, Matt is quite possibly the worlds best rock drummer. He also happens to be a close friend of Duffy and Morrison .... and owns a recording studio. The next step was a logical one. Record some of the tracks with Matt on drums, in his studio. Of course, the band still needed a Bass Player. Enter Brett Scallions of Fuel. Although noted for his vocals, Brett is a truly accomplished musician, and his amazing stage presence and backing vocals completed the package. Take two parts Cult, a pound of Almighty, a drop of Fuel and beat it together with a little VR tossed in for good measure: the end result is CIRCUS DIABLO.

The guys intend to run the band side by side with all existing work.

Billy Duffy is back on the road this year with The Cult. He will also be kept busy racing trucks in Mexico, appearing in a movie and playing a lot of football.

Brett Scallions continues to play in his NY based band, The X?s, runs a record label, and is working on a number of projects that include nightclubs and television shows.

Ricky Warwick will continue with his solo career, and also plans to do occasional shows with The Almighty.

Billy Morrison is responsible for the globally renowned Camp Freddy, and also hosts Camp Freddy Radio with Dave Navarro. Camp Freddy will continue to play in 2006.

Matt Sorum, although on the recordings, has a busy schedule with Velvet Revolver. So, unless the sea parts and the planets align, Matts not expected to be playing live with the band. However, once you are in CIRCUS DIABLO, you never really get out!
