Hailing from Niagara Falls Ontario, this 3 piece alternative rock band formed in early 2008. Lead singer and guitarist Nathan Warriner, drummer Brandon Ainsley and bassist Johnny Albers, formed The Waxbills after touring as Warriner´s solo act from 2006 to late 2007.
Sitting on a slew of material, The Waxbills wasted no time getting into the studio and in June 2008 the band recorded their 1st full-length record at Grant Avenue Studios with legendary producer/engineer Joe Shugan of Lone Rhino Productions. The 10 song album entitled "The Way It Goes" was released independently in October of 2008 and such tracks as "Take It" and "With Eyes That Never Lie" are currently getting steady radio play on several Canadian U.S and U.K rock radio stations. The Waxbills spent the majority of 2008 touring Ontario supporting their release and have recently acquired Cat Ward and Selective Image Inc. as their new management team.
In April 2009 "The Way It Goes" was nominated and won Album of The Year at The Niagara Music Awards. Although the award was physically stolen from them at the after party the lads are still proud of their accomplishment and hold no bitter resentment to the unknown thief. The Waxbills also took home the award for Best Original Band that night.
Currently the band are in the studio wrapping up their follow up record entitled "Hard To Lose" scheduled to be released in late September 2009. Following the release the band will hit the road in October on their cross Canada tour and are also planning on touring various other global markets through out 2010.
