Starlight Theatre is four friends doing the best they can to create something significant. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much; either way the goal is to always enjoy the progression.

Usually described as somewhere in the Matchbox 20/U2/Coldplay musical space, the boys have had the opportunity to engage some great crowds nationwide and at home in Brisbane. On account of filling out venues and constructing a solid fan base over the last 12 months, Triple M described the outfit as ‘a band to watch over the next year’.

The last six months saw Starlight Theatre finish recording their new EP, 'Castle, Clocks & Cathedrals' with celebrated producer, Magoo (Powderfinger, Kate-Miller Heidke, Regurgitator) in his unorthodox studio an hour outside Brisbane.

Bass player Josh Belz describes, the new EP has a sound the band has been chasing for some time - "It actually sounds like us. Weird thing to say but it's true. This is the band as you would hear it live. Very minimal overdubs. It's a little scary".

Launched at the end of 2011, the EP went straight to the top 10 in iTunes Rock charts; a tremendous achievement for an independent band to chart in such a prominent fashion.

The EP has already been opening doors for the band. Within 3 weeks of release , they were ask to perform on national television in a prime time morning slot. Added this a run of successful shows from Melbourne to Brisbane, 2012 is already looking like a big year for Starlight Theatre.

With any luck, the boys are hoping to outdo the successes of 2011, which saw their single 'How Long' being played on over 40 radio stations around the country, while the corresponding film clip was showcased on ABC's ‘Rage’ program. The increased media exposure propelled the band into an opening spot at Skilled Park stadium, just minutes before as Titans kick-off, further developing their reputation as a class live act.

Whatever happens, the future is definitely looking bright for Starlight Theatre.
