Trapt formed in 1997 with Chris Brown on vocals, Simon Ormandy playing guitar, Peter Charell on bass, and David Stege playing the drums. Shortly after, they recorded two albums (Amalgamation and Glimpse) to sell when they played at local venues. The band received a great response, and a buzz started to grow.
The band proceeded to sign with Warner Bros. Records and on November 22, 2002 the band released the self-titled Trapt which produced a total of three singles. "Headstrong" was the first, and it reached #1 on both the US Modern Rock and Us Mainstream Rock charts.
The next release by the band after their debut album was a three-track EP (released March 30, 2004) that included live versions of the "Made Of Glass" and "Echo" tracks, as well as a previously unheard track called "Promise".
Their second full length album titled "Someone In Control", was released September 13, 2005. It produced three singles for the band, "Stand Up", "Waiting" , "Disconnected (Out Of Touch)". While the singles didn´t do as well as the ones released from the first album, "Stand Up" still reached # 3 on the US Mainstream Rock chart. (Note: iTunes has an item listed as "Lost Realist-Single")
In early 2006, Trapt toured the US with Nickelback and Three Days Grace. Their live album titled Trapt Live!, was released September 18, 2007. The album features two new studio songs ("Stay Alive" and "Everything to Lose") as well as live versions of nine songs from their earlier records.New singles "Stay Alive" and "Everything To Lose" are now on their MySpace page. source
