Melodic.net's Kevin Chuck recently had the chance to sit down with up-and-coming music composer Jaymee Carpenter via the magic of email correspondence. The 35-year-old has worked on several different television shows, along with scoring scenes in the oscar nominated film 'The Fighter'. Familiar 48 released in 2002 one of the best modern rock albums in my opinion and had a perfect mix of the older traditional rock mixed up with the new modern rock. But unfortunately in late 2002 MCA didnt want to supprt them anymore and the band split up. I had the chance to give the leadsinger Jayy Mannon a bunch of questions about yesteday, today and tomorrow!

July For Kings understands the vices and virtues of small-town America, writing and singing about them - and more - with uncommon passion. After two indie CDs and several years of constant touring (under their former band name, Swim), the band has earned widespread success across the upper Midwest. Now, with the November 2002 release of their MCA debut album, SWIM, July For Kings is destined to shed all provincial bonds and take its brand of relentlessly tuneful rock to a much wider audience.
July for kings is:
Joe Hedges (Vocals)
Travis Delaney (Guitar)
Sam Dobrozsi (Drums)
Jason Morgan (Bass)
T Miller (guitar, cello)

July for kings "Swim" album was one of the best albums of 2002 with a number of "classic" modern rock tunes. In 2003 they parted ways with their label MCA that went under Geffen, but this hasnt stopped the band. New songs are up on their website and there are more to come, so this isnt the last that we have heard from these youngsters from ohio........

There are famous guys like David Foster, Jay Graydon, Brent Bourgeois, Jack Joseph Puigand just to name a few, wholl you buy the CD with just by looking who produced it (well regarding foster and graydon I mean the 80s). A not so famous name but who is in the same category as the jsut mentioned is Monroe Jones. Everything he puts his name under is worth buying. just a thing like that - so we thought we must track the guy down to see who he is and what hes up to. So we sent Rick Huisseune to do it... |
