A LOSS FOR WORDS frontman Matt Arsenault has released a new single entitled "My Oh My" under his R&B moniker CLASS OF '92. The song was tracked and produced by Chris Curran (A Loss For Words, Vanna, Lions Lions).
"It was great to be working on this Class Of '92 project and get some ideas out there that I've had for a while that just make no sense for A Loss For Words. Really excited to play these new tracks on my first tour in the UK. Be on the look for an EP this summer!" says Arsenault.
Class of '92 started after Arsenault needed an outlet to channel his the pop songs he was writing. Although he has been the frontman for Rise Records' A Loss For Words for 10 years, Arsenault grew up on the classic sounds of motown and R&B. Taking his love for those sounds, he began to write and record songs that are now part of the Class of '92 catalog.

Some things just seem to get better with time. Fine wine, classic cars and leather jackets all improve with age. Like beach glass polished by ocean waves, smooth jazz gets smoother as time goes by – especially when it's composed and produced with the masterful touch of Grammy Award winner Jim Peterik – founding member of The Ides of March and Survivor and co-writer of hits like Vehicle, Eye of the Tiger and Burning Heart. The iconic composer fell in love with the genre years ago, seeking respite from the sound and fury of rock. His latest creation is Jim Peterik's Lifeforce Forces at Play Deluxe Remastered Edition.
The two-disc set, just released May 7, offers a diverse buffet of listening pleasures. Following the critically-acclaimed debut of Forces at Play in 2011, Jim decided to give new listeners a second chance to sample his unique blend of sounds, while providing dedicated fans a fresh perspective on their favorites.
He began by utilizing Slate Digital Technology®, which produces a vibrantly warm, textured sound that replicates the depth and immediacy of analog recording. Then, he added two new bonus tracks: Voice of America (a song that came to him in a dream) and a live version of his classic, Vehicle, performed with the legendary Buddy Guy. Finally, he tapped his Ides of March bandmate and brilliant engineer, Larry Millas, to remix and remaster everything, further accentuating the nuances of the original tracks.
In addition to the core personnel from Jim Peterik's Lifeforce (Jim on guitar, vocals, keyboards and percussion, Ed Breckenfeld on drums, Klem Hayes on bass and Jeff Lantz on keyboards), the group is joined by an astounding array of talented musicians: Mindi Abair, Lisa McClowry, Steve Eisen, Steve Cole, Jessy J, Tim Bales, Mike Cichowicz, Steve Oliver, Nick Colionne, Mike Aquino, Jeff Carlisi, Blake Aaron, Richie Davis, Miles Gilderdale, Greg Carmichael, Khari Parker, Alex Ligertwood, Sijay, Marzette Griffith, David Pack, Chieli Minucci, Ariel Engelbert, Christian Cullen, Larry Gray, The Ides of March Brass, Thom Griffin, Ed Breckenfeld, Jeff Lantz, Klem Hayes and Zoey Engelbert.
The recording is comprised of one disc that is entirely instrumental and another complete with vocals. The first is perfect for adding ambiance to a romantic evening that won't interfere with conversation. The second is for thoroughly immersing oneself in the sensual world that Peterik's vision creates. While the single Forces at Play enjoys extensive coverage on smooth jazz radio, Jim Peterik's Lifeforce can be seen live at a number of venues, including The Parrot Cage in Chicago and at the largest music festival in the world, Milwaukee Summerfest, on July 7th.

Background
Grammy Award winning Jim Peterik's passion for songwriting has resulted in numerous hits including "Vehicle", "Eye of the Tiger", "Burning Heart", "Caught Up in You", "Hold on Loosely", "Rocking Into the Night", "High on You", "The Search is Over" and "That's Why God Made the Radio".
He divides his time between performing with his first group, The Ides of March (who will celebrate their 50th Anniversary shortly), as well as his work with Pride of Lions and Jim Peterik's Lifeforce. The ladder of which is signed to World Stage International Records.
He is the co-author of Songwriting for Dummies and enjoys mentoring rising stars in a number of genres, from jazz and rock to inspirational country.

Founding Evanescence/ We Are the Fallen guitarist Ben Moody, founding Papa Roach drummer Dave Buckner, former In This Moment bassist Josh Newell and frontman Lukas Rossi’s new project has found the four working side-by-side for the last few months recording their debut EP, Reset, which will be released on May 28, 2013. New Bedford, MA’s Half Hearted Hero (www.facebook.com/Halfhearterdheroma) will be touring with Carousel Kings and Altars next month. The tour hits the East Coast, Eastern Canada and the Midwest and kicks off June 20.
The band’s latest LP, Whatever, was released in January via Animal Style Records. The LP was produced by the band, recorded and mixed by guitarist Clinton Lisboa and Ben Barnett and mastered by Jay Maas (Defeater, Bane, Have Heart, Transit, Title Fight).

The Dallas, TX pop rock quartet are gearing up for their fourth run on the Vans Warped Tour, hitting 40 cities across North America, kicking off in Seattle, WA on June 15th. The band had arecent opportunity to partner with NFL to perform at the NFL PLAY 60 Kids Day NFL Experience in New Orleans during the week of Super Bowl XLVII. Recently the three remaining members ofStone Temple Pilotsraised a few eyebrows when it was revealed they would be performing at the annualMusiCares MAP Fundbenefit. Given thatthey splitwith frontmanScott Weilandearlier in the year, there were plenty of questions about who would sing for the band, but those questions were answered Saturday night (May 18) in Irvine, Calif. asLinkin Park‘sChester Benningtonjoined the band onstage at the2013 KROQ Weenie Roast.The group also took the opportunity to debut a new track called ‘Out of Time.’
Bennington, who also happens to be the MAP Fund honoree for this year’s event, joined the three STP members for a surprise set in the midst of the radio festival, rocking out a number of familiar favorites before closing the set with ‘Trippin’ on a Hole in a Paper Heart.’ In addition to the stage performance, Bennington has been in the studio with the band working on the ‘Out of Time’ track. A brief teaser clip of Bennington’s studio session can be seen above, while the song in full can be heard below.
Guitarist Dean DeLeo told theLos Angeles-based radio station, “Chester has a one-of-a-kind voice that we’ve admired for a long time. We know Linkin Park will always be his priority, but we thought it would be cool to try something together. We managed to find the time to record a song and we’re all really happy with the result.”
As for Bennington, he admits this was the fulfillment of a longtime dream. He explained, “I’ve loved STP since I was 13 years old and they’ve had a huge influence on me. When the opportunity came up to do something creative with them, I jumped at the chance. The guys in Linkin Park have been incredibly supportive of me undertaking this project while I’ve continued to work on new music with LP.”

New Jersey’s Man Overboard have lined up a series of 3 in-stores with local independent music stores, around the upcoming release of their new LP, Heart Attack, which drops on Tuesday, May 28.

Zero, the highly-anticipated dystopian concept album by HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS, hits stores on June 25, 2013. Following last week's Vans Warped Tour Twitter hosting stint and the release of 'Golden Parachutes', the band is now exclusively releasing their album art, track listing, and video album teaser with Alternative Press Magazine! "Just to give everyone a bit of insight on the concept behind the record - Zero, at its core, is a story of good and evil," explains HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS drummerEron Bucciarelli."The setting is a dystopian future where a totalitarian corporation has risen to power in the wake of a disaster, "The Fires". Zerois an account of the events from the perspective of the main character in the story, "Baker". The album's track listing is based upon those events."
Eron continues, "The story takes place in 2017 - or so THEY would like you to believe. In reality, the year is 2015. The people know little, they're angry, and they know something isn't right; that they've been lied to!Life used to be so nice, they used to be kids - driving around with friends, listening to music - no cares in the world. And as bad as things would sometimes get back then, they are nothing in comparison to what the people are experiencing now. This is only the tip of the iceberg. To delve deeper into the story, you'll have to delve deeper into Zero."
The album art for Zero was designed by Jeff Chenault at Eleven07 (www.eleven07.com), who also spearheaded the art direction along with HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS vocalist/guitarist JT Woodruff.
Zero, a concept album which will serve as the band's 5th full-length album, is produced by Brian Virtue (30 Seconds To Mars, Chevelle, Audioslave) and promises to be the band's most ambitious record yet! This album is set to shatter all previous records and add to the already 1.7 million albums that the band has sold in the U.S. alone. Zero poses a theme that, no matter how hard life gets or how many seemingly insurmountable odds you may encounter, everyone can get a fresh start. This theme is set against a dystopian, war-ravaged background.

Most recently, Steven McMorrancollaboratedwith Weezer's Rivers Cuomoon his English-Japanese self-titled LP called,Scott & Rivers. Steven co-wrote the first track,Break Freestating, "Thebest part about that experience was seeing how he built this story that we sort of outlined together... and I got to hear the word 'perambulations' fit perfectly into a verse."
Satellite consists of Steven McMorran(vocals/guitar),Mitch Allan(guitar),Josh Dunahoo(guitar), andErik Kerte (bass). The band formed in 2010 around songs written by Steven McMorran and the production aesthetic of esteemed songwriter, Allan, with input from bandmate, Dunahoo.

Uriah Heep and Spiders From Mars bassist Trevor Bolder has died from cancer, aged 62.
Bolder joined David Bowie's backing band in 1971, appearing on classic albums including Hunky Dory and Aladdin Sane. He went on to join Uriah Heep five years later and only stopped playing with the band a few months ago, due to his poor health.
Tributes were paid to him as a "world-class" rock musician.
A statement from Uriah Heep said: "It is with great sadness that Uriah Heep announce the passing of our friend the amazing Trevor Bolder, who has passed away after his long fight with cancer.Trevor was an all-time great, one of the outstanding musicians of his generation, and one of the finest and most influential bass players that Britain ever produced.His long-time membership of Uriah Heep brought the band's music, and Trevor's virtuosity and enthusiasm, to hundreds of thousands of fans across the world.He joined the band in 1976 and, barring one short break, was a fixture until his ill health forced him to take a step back early this year.Prior to joining Heep he was a founder and ever-present member of David Bowie's legendary Spiders From Mars band, performing on all of their key albums and at countless shows.He also performed with Wishbone Ash, Cybernauts and The Rats."
Uriah Heeplead guitarist Mick Box said: "Trevor was a world-class bass player, singer and songwriter, and more importantly a world-class friend. He will be sadly missed by family, friends and rock fans all over the world. We are all numb to the core."
Frontiers Records wishes to express enormous sadness for this loss and sends heartfelt condolences to the family and the band.

"Had It Coming", the first single from the upcoming album Arrows Of Desire will begin streaming at matthewgood.org on May 27. Additionally, fans will also be able to stream the extended single "Had It Coming/We're Long Gone" on the same day.
The single will be available for purchase on iTunes in Canada on May 28. The dual release single will be available for purchase from iTunes on June 4.

Asforecast, Vampire Weekend notches its second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart as "Modern Vampires of the City" debuts atop the list this week. The set sold 134,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, which is a record high sales week for the act.
The group's last album, "Contra," previously held the act's one-week sales record when it started at No. 1 in January of 2010 with 124,000.
"Modern Vampires of the City" is the 19th independently-distributed album to reach No. 1 since the Billboard 200 chart began using SoundScan sales data in 1991. The set is released on XL Recordings and distributed by Warner Music's indie-distribution arm Alternative Distribution Alliance.

The new album is the first indie set to debut at No. 1 this year. The last indie to start at No. 1 was Jason Aldean's "Night Train" on the chart dated Nov. 3, 2012. A few weeks before Aldean, Mumford & Sons' "Babel" opened at No. 1. It then returned to the top this year, after it won the Grammy Award for album of the year.
At No. 2 this week is country legend George Strait with his arriving "Love Is Everything." It sold 125,000 in its first frame, which surpasses the start of Strait's last studio release, 2011's "Here For a Good Time" (91,000) (Strait's first week sales figure was revised by SoundScan on the morning of May 22 from 120,000 to 125,000).
"Love Is Everything" is Strait's 18th top 10 album on the Billboard 200, tying him with Paul McCartney for the fourth-most top 10s among male artists in history. Only Frank Sinatra (33), Elvis Presley (27) and Bob Dylan (20) have logged more top 10s among the gents.
Over on the Country Albums chart, Strait secures his 25th No. 1 album with "Love Is Everything," extending his record for the most No. 1s on the Country Albums chart in history. In a distant second place are Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, who each have 15 No. 1s.
At No. 3 on the Billboard 200 is the third and final debut in the top 10: Demi Lovato's "Demi." The singer/actress' fourth album is her fourth straight set to debut in the top four, and it scores her best sales week yet (110,000).

Lovato's last album, 2011's "Unbroken," started at No. 4 with 96,000. She previously opened at No. 1 with her sophomore set, "Here We Go Again," in 2009 (108,000 in its debut -- her previous best sales week). Her first album, 2008's "Don't Forget," debuted and peaked at No. 2 off an 89,000 launch.
As for the rest of the top 10 this week, last week's No. 1, Lady Antebellum's "Golden," falls to No. 5 with 56,000 (down 67%). Right above it is the soundtrack to the film "The Great Gatsby," which slips from No. 2 to No. 4 in its second week with 95,000 (down just 30%).
The "Now 46" compilation falls 3-6 (52,000; down 43%), Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience" descends 6-7 (44,000; down 34%) and Michael Buble's "To Be Loved" dips 4-8 (40,000; down 53%). Closing out the top 10: Pistol Annies' "Annie Up" drops 5-9 (30,000; down 64%) and Blake Shelton's "Based On a True Story" steps down 9-10 (28,000; down 26%).
Over on the Digital Songs chart, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us" is still tops, selling another 231,000 downloads (down 4%). Charging fast right behind is Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," featuring T.I. & Pharrell, which vaults 23-2 with 206,000 (up 204%). Last week, the song was performed on NBC's "The Voice" (May 14) and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" (May 16).
P!nk's "Just Give Me a Reason," featuring Nate Ruess, slips 2-3 with 193,000 (down 16%), Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" holds at No. 4 with 189,000 (up 25%) and Selena Gomez's "Come and Get It" climbs 6-5 with 164,000 (up 15%).
Falling 3-6 is Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors" with 156,000 (down 7%), while Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" is steady at No. 7 with 141,000 (up less than 1%). Also standing still is Icona Pop's "I Love It," featuring Charli XCX, though it's up by less than 1%. Jumping 19-9 is Lana Del Rey's "Young and Beautiful" with 121,000 (up 57%), thanks to exposure gleaned from its use in the film "The Great Gatsby" and on its soundtrack.
Completing the top 10 is Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," featuring Pharrell Williams, which rises 17-10 with 118,000 (up 45%).
Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending May 19) totaled 5.10 million units, down 8% compared with the sum last week (5.55 million) and up less than 1% compared with the comparable sales week of 2012 (5.09 million). Year to date album sales stand at 111.41 million, down 5% compared to the same total at this point last year (117.40 million).
Digital track sales this past week totaled 24.43 million downloads, up 1% compared with last week (24.26 million) and down 2% stacked next to the comparable week of 2012 (24.95 million). Year to date track sales are at 531.18 million, down 3% compared to the same total at this point last year (545.30 million).
Next week's Billboard 200 competes with the same week in 2012 when: John Mayer's "Born and Raised" gave the singer/guitarist his third No. 1, as it debuted atop the list with 219,000. The second-highest entry was Slash's "Apocalyptic Love," featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, at No. 4 with 38,000.
