Godsmack Goes Acoustic

Hard rock outfit Godsmack will turn the tables on its loud guitar sound with an acoustic album due Nov. 18 via Universal. The group is recording the set in Hawaii, with frontman Sully Erna handling production duties. The album will be a mix between new versions of old tracks such as "Voodoo" and "Serenity" and newly written acoustic tunes.
"We decided to do an acoustic record because we have always messed around with acoustic versions of our music and gotten great reactions to it," Erna said in a statement. "Re-working the songs this way shows a different side of the band."
The acoustic set will be mixed by David Bottrill, who was behind the boards for Godsmack's latest album, "Faceless," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 779,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
