Punk Goes Pop 2 Debuts #15 On Billboard Top 200



Punk Goes Pop 2 flew off stands in its first week of release, grasping the #15 spot on the Billboard Top 200 with over 20,000 albums sold. This eighth release in the Punk Goes series, put on by Fearless Records, has the highest first week debut in the history of the series.
Punk Goes Pop 2 not only cracked the top 20 on the Billboard 200 chart, it also debuted at #1 on the Independent Record Label chart, #7 on the Current Alternative Albums chart, #23 on the Current Alternative Albums Core Stores and #7 on the Overall Digital Albums chart. A Day To Remember's cover of "Over My Head (Cable Car)" by The Fray has also hit the charts debuting at #196 on Hot Digital Tracks.
Punk Goes Pop 2 features covers of artists like Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Rihanna. Bands such as Chiodos, The Cab, Alesana, and Escape The Fate add a punk flair to some of today's hottest pop songs. This series has already sold over 300,000 albums in the US alone. This latest release cements the series position as the top selling full-price compilation in the punk genre.

Did you know that?

Pearl Jam“s first name was "Mookie Blaylock" after the All-Star basketball player, but the name was changed to "Pearl Jam" due to trademark concerns. Vocalist Eddie Vedder claimed in an early interview that the name was a reference to his great-grandmother Pearl. In 2006 guitarist Mike McCready said that bass player Jeff Ament came up with "Pearl" and that "Jam" was added after seeing Neil Young live.
