Check Out The Killing Floor's "star Baby" Music Video‏. (Dir Joel Schumacher)‏

Renowned film director Joel Schumacher liked what he saw and heard from New York based rock-n-roll buzz band The Killing Floor and agreed to direct the band’s first music video, scheduled for release through a social media marketing campaign on June 12. The video and corresponding campaign promotes the band’s single, “Star Baby,” off The Killing Floor’s self-titled debut album.

“Star Baby” is a catchy, gritty rock tune, perfect for the likes of Schumacher, who has been directing movies and music videos since the 1980s. His music video credits include INXS’s “Devil Inside,” Bush’s “Letting the Cables Sleep,” and Seal’s “Kiss from a Rose.” His box office hits include The Lost Boys, St. Elmo’s Fire, Batman Forever, A Time To Kill, and Phantom of the Opera, among other familiar titles.

"One of the greatest joys of my life and career is working with young people just as their careers are starting to blossom,” said Schumacher. “The talented members of The Killing Floor epitomize everything I love about working with new talents: hunger, energy, passion and a fresh new artistic perspective. I hope they will achieve all the success they deserve."

The beautiful IMG model/actress Mallory June stars in the video alongside the band. The video was produced by Outright Rock Productions and Defiant Giant Productions.

“The band was elated that this iconic director agreed to turn ‘Star Baby’ into a major video,” said lead singer Marco Argiro. "Schumacher has not done many music videos, so we were honored that he wanted to work with The Killing Floor."

The Killing Floor’s debut album was recorded at Soundmine Studios in the Pocono Mountains a few hours outside of New York City and is currently available on iTunes via Soundmine MusicWorks. The album is scheduled to be released in Europe this August through European record label Membran Entertainment Group.
