Alternative Press Features Green Day On The Cover Of Issue #291

Alternative Press today announced that multi-platinum, Grammy® Award winning rock band Green Day will be featured on issue #291 (October 2012) which will hit the newsstands on Sept 4, 2012. This marks the fifth time Green Day has been on the cover of the magazine, and this time out the band is featured on two collectible covers (see below).

"The folks at Alternative Press and its readers have always been loyal to Green Day," said frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. "It's an honor to once again be on the cover launching our album trilogy, Green Day ¡Uno!, Green Day ¡Dos!, Green Day ¡Tré!."

"Green Day certainly didn't invent punk rock," says Jason Pettigrew, Alternative Press editor-in-chief, "but they continue to be a huge component of the zeitgeist that informs the contemporary punk scene, 25 years after their inception. And that is why we back them. Besides, I can't think of a cooler bunch of guys to have over to wreck my home."

Fans of both the magazine and the band can preorder the issue by visiting www.altpress.com/preorder. There will also be an iPad edition of the magazine featuring exclusive video interview and b-roll/behind the scenes footage from the cover shoot with the band. Alternative Press will also be launching a limited quantity of subscription bundles featuring a Green Day t-shirt bundled with an annual subscription to the magazine launching September 4, 2012. Did you know that?

Keith Moon passed out on a The Who show in the early 70´s but the band asked if there was anyone in the audience who could play drums. A fan came up on stage to replace Moon and the band could finish the setlist for the night.
