The famous Irish rock band U2 is going to team up with Dublin, Ireland´s Docklands Development Authority in efforts to build the U2 Tower. This monster of a building is planned to be a 450 foot twisting tower will be the tallest structure in the city. The majority of the tower will consist of two-bedroom apartments that are expected to cost as much as $3 million each depending on the view.
Norman Foster, the brains behind the Gherkin in London and the Millau Viaduct in France, was chosen by Dublin´s Docklands Development Authority. He will now head-up the operation for the city´s first ever skyscraper, which will reach a height of 120m and cost around 200 million Euros. Commissioned by Geranger Ltd, a consortium including the members of the Irish rock group, the tower will apparently feature an egg-shaped recording studio at its peak, with their own special elevator from the ground floor to their studio, the band will be able to record while looking out over the sea and city.
